Individual Home Support needed for Adult

Posting as an Individual Goods and Services Supervisor.

Seeking a caregiver/direct support professional for a 23 year old male with autism in Bridgeport. He is nonverbal and uses a communication device; hands on training will be provided with behaviorist.

Currently looking to hire a team of peers to assist and support his needs at home and in the community. Tasks will include assisting with ADL’s, household tasks and community outings.

The hours are Tuesday & Thursday 4pm - 9pm, which will involve transitioning from day program and setting / maintaining an evening routine. This would include meal prep / dinner hour (following specific diet) as well as providing any assistance that may needed with personal hygiene during evening cares (verbal / gestural / hands on). Hours on Saturday are open as well, with an emphasis on community activities and involvement. He is high energy and these activities are often trampoline parks, going out to eat with approved locations, special Olympics or social groups meet-ups.

The position requires a vehicle / valid drivers license. Mileage will be reimbursed as well as activity allowance for outings.

Pay is BOE, starting wage $20.50-$22.00/per hour with hourly wage increase after 90 day working test period. Funding provided through DDS with GTI as the fiscal intermediary.
