We can help you find the right resource for your family in Arizona!

Respite is planned or emergency care provided to a child or adult with special needs in order to provide temporary relief – or a short break – to family caregivers who are caring for that child or adult.

You should consider respite services much earlier than you think you will need them. Respite will be most helpful if you use it before you become exhausted, isolated, and overwhelmed by your responsibilities. Respite will give you a chance to step back and recharge.

The Arizona Respite Registry offers a comprehensive and current list of people working in direct care who are ready to provide respite in a variety of settings. This registry will enable individuals and families throughout Arizona to easily access individual workers and other resources to provide the support you or your family member may need to remain living in your own home.

For additional information about family caregiving, visit, which was created to support you and your family. offers support and help finding access to information, assistance, answers, new ideas and helpful options for you and your loved one.

You also may contact the statewide Arizona Caregiver Resource Line at 1-888-737-7494 or email

Caregivers and others seeking assistance can call or email 24/7. Helpful trained caregiver advocate volunteers answer calls Monday through Friday, from 9 am to 5 pm. If you call at other times, leave a message. Your call will be returned within one or two days.

Not sure if you’re a family caregiver? Take the AMA Caregiver Self-Assessment Questionnaire.
