Looking to hire a personal assistant in Connecticut?

Finding and hiring the right person to provide support to families and individuals with disabilities has often been a struggle. The Rewarding Work website provides the only comprehensive and current list of people in Connecticut who are ready to provide direct care in your home.

You can get their names, telephone numbers, and their availability for full- or part-time work, and learn if they can work days, evenings, or weekends.

    Here's how it works:

  1. You first establish an account by clicking here.
  2. Then you search the list of available care providers.
  3. After you find one or more people who meet your specific needs, you contact them by phone or email to arrange an interview.
  4. When you find someone who meets your needs and who wants to work for you, you hire that person. Click here for hiring tips.

This service is a subscription service. That means after you pay a low fee, you get unlimited access to all the names of available care providers for as little as one month, or up to one year.

If you receive services from the Connecticut Department of Developmental Services and are considering hiring and managing your own support, you are eligible for a free long-term subscription. Contact your case manager or support broker for more information.
